ABCO Marine (Irl) Ltd were contracted by Carillion Irishenco Ltd, as specialist marine engineering subcontractor in support of the delivery of the Dingle Harbour Development.
The project consisted of the installation of 17 number 457mm diameter steel piles to support new mooring development within Dingle Harbour. We had to mobilise C59 Emotion Jack-Up Barge, and construct in the harbour before tracking on piling rig and all associated equipment to conduct the piling. Additionally we had to mobilise a modular pontoon barge in support of the operation, with steel piles transferred from shore on the transfer barge.
The works within the harbour were programmed in two phases to enable the harbour to remain operational, with all vessels within the harbour relocated during the construction phase. ABCO Divers Ltd were utilised to burn the existing steel piles, prior to the installation of the new infrastructure, with twelve (12) number piles extracted at seabed level.
