ABCO Marine (IRL) Ltd were contracted by Irish Water as principal contractor for Greater Dublin Drainage (GDD) Marine Site Investigation project.
The offshore site investigation is to aid in and inform the design of a long sea outfall for the GDD Scheme at Portmarnock, Co. Dublin, Ireland. The works were intended to provide information for Irish Water in respect of the ground conditions along the alignment of the proposed outfall and at the location of the proposed diffuser head.
All marine equipment and project operations were supported from Howth Harbour, including the mobilisation of C59 Emotion Jack Up Barge.
The scope of works included a total of three overwater boreholes in water of up to 20m depth, as well as 10 vibrocores, all conducted from C59 Emotion Jack Up Barge.
