ABCO Marine Ltd were contracted by Leslie MWH JV on behalf of Scottish Water for site investigation of the proposed new long sea outfall pipe route as part of the Loch Ryan WWTW project.
A number of outfall locations for the new treatment works were considered along the coast, both north and south of the harbour town of Portpatrick. Some were more suited to specific potential treatment works locations, with the discharge of the treated effluent to the North Channel of the Irish Sea agreed for Larbrax Bay.
Mobilisation and construction of C59 Emotion Jack Up Barge in Portpatrick Harbour, with all equipment loaded onto barge before departing and towing 4 nautical miles to works site. The Jack Up Barge was delivered in modular form and constructed on site with close liaison with the Harbour Master and Dumfries and Galloway Council.
