ABCO Marine (Irl) Ltd were contracted by L&M Keating Ltd for the installation of large diameter piles in support of the Ros a Mhíl Harbour development project.
ABCO mobilise the C59 Emotion Jack Up barge to support the piling rig, this was supported by a module crane barge with a crawler crane. All specialist marine equipment was transported in modular form by road, and configured on site in Ros a Mhíl harbour.
The works programme was accelerated due to delays, with 24hour working with marine crews utilised to deliver the project. With ABCO supplying barge crew, competent vessel personnel and commercial dive teams to complete the construction activities.
Mobilisation and construction of C59 Emotion Jack Up Barge to support pile installation, with all operations supplied by an additional crawler crane positioned on the quay.
Mobilisation and construction of B69 Emotional Modular Crane Barge to support mobile crawler crane, use to support pile installation and material transfer.
Installation of 35 number 510mm -825mm large diameter rock socket piles into bedrock up to 26m long, management and programming of drilling operations and pile installation conducted from C59 Emotion Jack-Up Barge.
Removal of drill and piling generated waste, with materials separated into skips and lifted from barge onto Crane Barge and onto shore for disposal. With all piles grouted into the granite bedrock.
Working with ABCO Divers Ltd for pile removal using underwater burning techniques.
Close liaison with Ros a Mhil Harbour Master’s Office, ensuring all permissions for delivery and assembly of all road transportable modular equipment mobilised for the delivery of the project.
